A family meal

R spotted a Pizza Hut buy-one-get-one-free offer the other day so we printed off the voucher and drove to the restaurant last evening.

We normally head out before 6pm if we go out to eat just so we can finish and get home in time to bathe Lucien and put him to bed. Pizza Hut was relatively empty when we go there and we sat somewhere at the back because my husband was worried “Lucien may scream and disturb other customers”.

In the end Lucien was unusually well-behaved throughout our meal. He was happily feasting on bits of breadsticks, pizza crusts and other pieces of food we chucked on his tray. Because he was so calm and quiet, R and I had a good conversation and took our time to enjoy our meal.

We even had time to stop by the Gap Outlet Store next to the restaurant to pick up a few things before heading home.

I know this doesn’t seem like a big deal but it’s moments like these which make me happy and content. Spending time as a family. A simple, relaxed evening.
